I keep reading and hearing about the "beautiful game" - oh, it's football they're talking about.

You mean the unskilful back-passing, sideways-passing, wasting time, diving, non-stop fouling and brainless play which sometimes suggest the modern players would do better with Wellingtons on?

Today's players can't dribble, tackle or shoot. They are the most over-rated of all time, not to mention overpaid.

Please show film of the great Hungarian side of the early Fifties, or those great Brazilian teams who used to give us such a treat and, locally, the Busby babes and the Spurs double sides.

Now there was entertainment.

If the words fantastic, awesome and phenomenal represent today's players, you would need a whole dictionary to describe the old ones.
