Burgess Hill manager Gary Croydon was upbeat despite defeat at Corinthian Casuals.
He said: "I'm very disappointed to lose 3-0 but the boys played some lovely football.
"We totally dominated the first half but went to sleep just before half-time when they scored."
Two further goals followed in the second half while Hillians top scorer Steve Harper had a penalty saved by 16-year-old keeper Gareth Williams.
