Homeless people are set to benefit after a £67,000 grant was handed to a city hostel.
Brighton and Hove City Council has been awarded the funding to improve facilities at the New Steine Mews hostel in St James's Street, Brighton.
It will be spent building an annexe for cooking, computer and health advice and other life skills training.
The grant has come from the Deputy Prime Minister's Office as part of a package of measures to improve hostels.
Members of the housing committee will be considering the proposal, which still needs planning permission, on November 16.
