I have read the arguments for and against the new trains and I must confess I have empathy for both camps.
On the new trains, safety and onboard information is much better but the seats are hard and the air conditioning can give you instant neuralgia.
However, I would suggest the worst feature of the new trains is the continually locked toilets, necessitating a travel position of a Tibetan monk with his legs crossed while at prayer.
