As a high-ranking business executive, I am afforded the privilege of being able to go on frivolous "working" trips around the world while charging all costs incurred to my hefty expense account.
And why not? Surely it is my right as a trusted leader of men to be given such special treatment.
And surely it is also right for our elected officials to "play the system" in the same way. It shows initiative and style and I trust them more for their artistry in combining business and pleasure in such an economical way.
I hesitate to say that if Councillor Paul Elgood had such common sense, he would have advanced in his career instead of languishing at home in a sulk.
