Following your article "Officials sent on LA trip to check King Alfred plan" (The Argus, October 13), I suggest Brighton and Hove City Council should first check the entrance of Shoreham Harbour by Hove Lagoon and make an impact assessment study of all port-related heavy goods vehicles.

The Kingsway residents are suffering hazardous conditions from more and more lorries with sand aggregates and other heavy materials required from the port to feed all major developments and this has turned the Kingsway into a commercial road with early morning wake-up calls at 4.20am.
