I read your article about parking fees (The Argus, October 12) and felt compelled to write to you.
I live in Waterloo Street, Hove, and have had a similar experience recently - not only have the council increased parking fees themselves but also increased the times and days for which they charge.
For example, controlled hours have been extended from 6pm until 8pm and Sundays are now included. How can the council justify this?
When I return from work at 7pm I can no longer park in these bays. I have a parking permit but there are no spaces so what am I meant to do?
I am interested to know how this can happen (increased council tax only adds salt into the wounds) and what we can do about it?
I would be happy to demonstrate or take other action in opposition to this.
I bet the council is rubbing its hands with glee at the prospect of more revenue and more traffic wardens. When will it stop?
