As the Number 7 no longer serves her, Mrs K Y Wells' mother should get together with her neighbours to hire a taxi (Letters, October 13).
Modern taxis can carry all of them and their shopping. It turns shopping into a social event and when they are ready to go home, they just call up a taxi to take them.
As I doubt they want to go shopping at peak time, the taxi companies will be happy. The bus company will lose out, which is only fair.
