As a cyclist and pedestrian I would just like to say that the freestanding barriers with the no Cycling signs are a waste of time and money.

Cyclists who ignore warnings on the ground also ignore these barriers.

They are also a hazard to the disabled and the blind.

Furthermore could someone inform me of the income generated by fines and the expenditure involved in repainting and resurfacing the cycle lanes?

Finally, I recently witnessed a family of cyclists where a child who pointed out the No Cycling signs painted on the ground to his parents was swiftly told "not to worry about them". What does that bode for the future when children are specifically encouraged to flout the law?
