Garry Wilson has warned his Eastbourne Borough players he will not hesitate to get tough if results do not improve.

Wilson dropped club captain Daren Pearce and Danny Simmonds after the defeat at Margate last Saturday and was rewarded with Borough's first win against Hayes on Monday.

Borough have no new injury worries for Saturday's trip to second-placed Grays which means Pearce is expected to miss out again with Richard Brady keeping his place alongside Scott Ramsay up front following an impressive debut against Hayes.

Wilson said: "No one has a divine right to play if they are not performing. I have to do what I think is best for the team.

"Daren has done a great job for us but I felt things needed to be changed to get a result. He comes in for a lot of unwarranted criticism but he is big enough to shrug it off.

"He took the decision well and I'm sure he will work harder to get back into the team and that is the sort of attitude we want at the club."

Former Albion defender Ross Johnson has left Borough by mutual consent after playing just one game for the club since arriving in the summer.

Johnson - who made 132 appearances for Albion - had been given a short term contract but failed to prove he had recovered fully from the operation which ruled him out of the majority of last season when at Worthing.

Wilson said: "It was Ross's own decision really. He was frustrated with his fitness levels and decided enough was enough."
