I am not a regular rail traveller. Last week we had a young German visitor staying with us and decided to have a day out in London.
Starting from Lewes, I felt ashamed when an old train arrived. It was clean but an awful ride and uncomfortable.
Thankfully, the return journey was on a new style train for which I have nothing but praise. It was clean, comfortable, safe and we were travelling in the rush hour.
I must also add I have nothing but praise for all the staff and their help and courtesy.
