Hastings United had to settle for a point after a 1-1 draw at home to Croydon Athletic.
Athletic took the lead on 16 minutes when a through ball dissected the home defence and John Fowler converted.
Billy Jackson and Danny Stassinos both went close to doubling the advantage before Hastings finally got a foothold in the match.
Peter Sayer levelled on 26 minutes with a delightful chip beyond the keeper.
