Forest Row ace Sean Yates, who was surprisingly beaten by his brother Chris in a recent 10-mile event, returned to winning form in the Antelope club's open 10 in Dorset.

Yates (In Gear) recorded 19min.12sec to beat the course record by four seconds.

Johm Limpus (GS Stella) was on form with 20min.39sec for tenth place.

Limpus said: "I should have been a minute faster than that. A slow vehicle got in my way and I had trouble getting past.

"The officials accepted that but, as it looked as if I might be taking pace, I had a minute added to my time."

Southern Counties champion Keith Coffey (Bec CC) won the Anerley BC's 50-mile event at Horsham in 1hr.50min.35sec.

The Crawley CC team, led by Paul Jones, were fourth (1hr.55min32sec). Paul Byford was sixth (1.58.36) and Clive Powell tenth (1.59.29) to clinch the team prize.

Harry Featherstone (Eastbourne Rovers), 71, recorded 2hrs 8min.13sec, beating his age-related target time by 44 minutes, to win the veterans' handicap.

Brighton Mitre have a top quality field for their 33-mile time trial at Loxwood on Sunday.

The HQ is Loxwood sports pavilion and the first of 72 riders will start at 2.30pm.
