Grumpy Tim Rundall says the USA has many crimes against humanity to answer for (Letters, August 10).
As a linguist he should appreciate that, if that country had not opposed the human rights violations inflicted on the world by Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union, then English would not be the world language it is today and he would have been brought up speaking either German or Russian.
