So, the Sussex Downs Conservation Board are angry that John Prescott hasn't thrown out the Albion's Falmer bid because two out-of-touch planning inspectors didn't like it (The Argus, August 2).
Who gives a damn what they think? I certainly don't. I'm disgusted it had to go to an inquiry in the first place.
It had massive majority support in the referendum on the issue, and the planning committee of Brighton and Hove City Council (elected by the people of Brighton and Hove) supported it by eleven votes to one.
That should have been it. It's called democracy. Who elected planning inspectors Hoile and Collyer? Nobody.
I have read Collyer's report and it is amateurish, prejudiced rubbish.
The whole thing is a damned disgrace and Mr Prescott should put these inspectors and the Nimbys firmly in their place.
Reopen the enquiry, establish what we already know - that none of the other sites are suitable - then give the green light for Falmer and bow to the will of the majority.
