How sad to learn that the West Pier will not be restored.

I would like to suggest a new and exciting landmark could be put on the site.

Preserve what remains of the seaward end and use the iron skeleton of the concert hall as the basis for a water sculpture.

Jets of sea water could rise high in the air and be programmed to make ever changing patterns. At night, they could be floodlit in various colours.

As far as I am aware, this would be a unique project and would entertain visitors and residents alike - just as the West Pier did in her heyday.
