Joan Bourner's letter, Danger Cleaner, (The Argus, July 12) is interesting.
Having recently purchased a Dyson cleaner, I assembled the appliance myself.
It is made of light plastic so it is strange the machine is heavy to manoeuvre.
If the driving belt comes adrift, one should employ Mike Tyson to put it right.
In fairness, it should be said the after-service received from Dyson was excellent.
An engineer arrived to correct a fault in situ almost immediately.
Having received an invitation for insurance, the cost offered for after-care suggests the machine should be used with kid gloves.
Not wishing to make a career of this, three choices are available - disposal to charity shop while the appliance is still usable and under guarantee; go for a walk on the beach to relax, weather permitting, of course; or find a firm who can supply a Hoover easy to manipulate, quiet and efficient enough to clean a small flat.
