Further TO Douglas d'Enno's interesting article on Prince Kropotkin, my father spoke of when he was 18 or 19 coming down to Brighton to visit his relatives prior to the first World War and on a number of occasions going to listen to a Russian anarchist prince speaking soapbox style on Brighton seafront.
This, it appears, Prince Kropotkin did frequently between 1912 and 1914.
My father stressed he was not the type of anarchist who killed people. He preached gentleness and mutual concern, a rather Christ-like approach similar to Mahatma Gandi's syndicalist anarchism, a philosphy of non-violence.
