Withdean 2000 have folded as a senior club just a year after winning the Combined Counties League.
The club will continue to operate as a youth set-up but their senior team has been withdrawn from the league.
After one season of sharing their Withdean Stadium home with Albion in 1999-2000, the club were forced to look elsewhere for somewhere to play home games.
They spent one season groundsharing at Horsham and two with Worthing but the financial burden of renting has hit them hard.
Although they have an agreement to return to Withdean Stadium for the start of next season, that was always unlikely to happen with Albion's proposed move to Falmer apparently no closer and the club have taken the decision that they can no longer continue to tread water at Worthing.
