In response to Gerald E Spicer (Letters, June 8), I cannot recall having had hundreds of aeroplanes in the airspace of an airfield or seeing such a number while flying.
I am frankly surprised that Gerald, who also served in peacetime and was a groundstaff fitter, never appears to have a kind word to say about anyone or anything.
