On Sunday, June 6, D-Day was celebrated in Europe. Many elderly veterans were unable to take part in remembrance services over there.
Can anyone tell me why Brighton was unable to arrange a short service at the war memorial in Old Steine?
Surely a service could have been arranged, even if dignitaries, council officers, clergy and ex-service associations were unable to attend?
A group of nine people did place flowers with cards at the memorial. The exhortation and the prayers were said. We will remember them.
