Although I am of Patrick Moore's generation rather than that of the popular musician Brian May, I am certainly not surprised that they should be collaborating upon a book about astronomy (The Argus, June 9).
After all, Patrick has composed piano music, a compact disc of which has been well recorded by Neil Crossland, who has a lunchtime concert on June 24 at All Saints, Church Road, Hove.
Who knows, Messrs May and Moore's literary efforts might inspire them to musical heights that would rival Bart Howard's magnificent song "Fly Me To The Moon"?
I count it as one of the great experiences of my life to have heard this song as first performed in New York by Mabel Mercer, when it was known as "In Other Words" - a decade before Peggy Lee changed the title and took it around the world.
