Southwick reeled off their third successive win to open up a big lead at the top of the Invitation League.

They enjoyed a seven-wicket victory at Burgess Hill after bowling out the home side for 138.

Southwick were eased to maximum points by an unbroken third wicket stand between Des Colvill (67 not out) and Jim Downey (48 not out).

Captain Paul Grennan said: "Jim and Des took them apart."

Forty points behind are Ifield who beat Pagham by 43 runs. Srivnas held together the Ifield innings with 48 in their total of 150-8 before Pagham were dismissed for 107, J. Porack taking 5-23.

Two points behind Ifield in third are Broadwater although they were held to a draw by Goring. Steve Collins made 70 in Broadwater's 163-8 and Goring closed on 121-6.

Champions Findon finally got on the park after two washouts and cruised to a five-wicket win at Lindfield. Toby Kingsbury hit an unbeaten 90 and Graham Waller made 56 as the visitors chased down Lindfield's 164-6 with five wickets in hand. Peter Whear (46) had top-scored for Lindfield.

Crawley Eagles are setting the pace in division two after beating Barns Green by 79 runs. Eagles made 180-9 despite Phil Awcock's 4-61 and then bowled out the visitors for 101, Amer Riaz taking 5-28.

A distant 27 points behind Eagles are Clymping and Henfield. They met on Saturday when newly-promoted Henfield won by six wickets after dismissing the hosts for 119 (Tim Parsons 6-19). The visitors were led to victory by R. Dale's 60.

John Carr hit 135 not out as Keymer & Hassocks almost overcame Billingshurst's 246-5. The visitors closed on 235-4 and Carr was the day's second century-maker. Jason Rigby had earlier scored 120 for Billingshurst.

Ansty slumped to 0-2 at home to Scaynes Hill but Richard Nichols made 85 and put on 119 for the third wicket with Dave Croydon before the declaration on 203-6.

Scaynes Hill reached 164-5 in reply, Paul Elphick making an unbeaten 44.
