The closure of the main post office in central Hove and the subsequent migration of customers to the Blatchington Road sub post office will fill existing customers with horror (The Argus, May 6).

Blatchington Road often has long queues and the wonderful staff are completely overloaded. Senior and handicapped customers having to queue twice as long is not on.

The sub post office does not, at present, handle passports, driving licences and so on. These would make queues even longer.

If the council continues turning houses into flats and introducing skyscrapers in overcrowded residential Hove, more post offices will be needed, not fewer.

The Government spends billions of pounds on foreign wars while at home the needs of citizens are being cutback or left to charities.
