The Argus and its staff have won yet more awards.
The paper was named daily newspaper of the year at the Newsquest editorial, sales and distribution awards held in Meriden, Warwickshire, on Tuesday.
Chief features writer Angela Wintle was feature writer of the year and sub-editor Angela Harffey, who has recently left the paper, was designer of the year.
Crime reporter and assistant editor Phil Mills was commended in the reporter of the year category and Woman writer Carrie Buckle was highly commended in the feature writer of the year category.
Our sister paper Horley Life was highly commended in the free newspaper of the year category.
The previous night, photographer Tony Wood was commended in the Newspaper Society's annual awards and The Argus was commended in the newspaper of the year category.
Altogether, Newsquest (Sussex) Ltd staff won or were commended in a total of 14 categories at both events.
The Argus is the current Press Gazette evening newspaper of the year.
Editor-in-chief Simon Bradshaw said: "This is recognition once again of what excellent and professional staff we have here producing quality newspapers.
"I am extremely proud of every single one of them."
