You report the roads in Brighton and Hove are fuller and journeys are slower and ask what the alternative is (The Argus, March 23).

Well, the simple and proven solution is to introduce congestion charges before the situation gets even worse. The revenue could go towards improving our city.

Motorists will have brought the charge upon themselves because common sense and polite warnings aren't working.

And let's see many more traffic wardens in all parts of our city, starting with Saltdean. Let's make our roads an asset, not a liability.
