The horrific story about the ordeal of pensioner Eddie Walters, who was mercilessly mugged, can only leave a decent-minded person sickened (The Argus, December 11).
What is equally as sickening is that social services only granted him a "crisis loan" of around £30 - and expect him to repay it.
