An Old Bailey jury retired today in the trial of a woman accused of murdering her husband with an overdose of drugs on his 31st birthday.
Dena Thompson, 43, denies killing Julian Webb in June 1994 at the home they shared in Yapton, West Sussex.
The prosecution alleges she tricked Mr Webb into taking aspirins and an antidepressant, possibly in a hot, spicy curry.
But the defence said she was being prosecuted because his friends and family could not accept that he committed suicide.
