The three-bedroom house mentioned by Anthony Furey (Letters, November 20), was a purpose-built disabled dwelling when my stepson was alive.

He unfortunately died aged 17 in June 2002. With my other stepson suffering from ADHD, a behavioural problem, the pressure was too much and my wife left the marital home at the end of March 2003.

Since that time, a kidney problem has hospitalised me six or seven times.

I have also been harassed by various men trying to make me to leave the house.

I have two daughters from previous relationships, aged eight and 13 who stay with me regularly.

On one occasion my eldest daughter was staying for the weekend when I was attacked at home while still having drainage tubes attached to my kidney.

The dwelling belongs to the Chichester Diocesan Housing Association (CDHA). I have been in contact with them on numerous occasions, asking to move to a two-bedroom house or flat so my daughters can stay with me.

It says it can do nothing as the property is in both our names as tenants, although I don't know here my estranged wife is living.

There must be a family for whom this home would be a godsend.
