Kwan Browne believes East Grinstead are in the perfect position to overtake leaders Old Georgians in the second half of the season.

Earlier in the season the player coach had set his side the goal of opening up a sizeable lead at the top of National League division two by Christmas.

But now he is happy just to sit on shoulder of Old Georgians and bid his time rather than being frontrunners.

"We don't mind being second because we know we are capable of moving above Old Georgians in the second half of the season," said Browne. "Morale is very high at the club and we are confident of success."

Tomorrow's clash with Indian Gymkhana marks the half way stage of the campaign with East Grinstead boasting the only unbeaten record in the division.

Two draws from their ten games mean they trail Old Georgians by a solitary point.

"If we continue playing the same way as we have in the first half of the season then we should be fine as on one has beaten us and we still have to play Old Georgians at home," added Browne.

Paul Benoy is hoping Lewes' steady improvement continues when they take on bottom club Oxford Hawks looking to record back-to-back wins for the first time this season.

The match signals the start of a run of games against weaker teams and Benoy knows his side must pick up as many points as possible.

The Lewes manager said: "We have had to play East Grinstead, Bath and Havant recently so it will be good to play against some sides not at the top of the table. We have been playing well and not getting the results so hopefully now we will put together a few wins."
