Francesc Fabregas is likely to get a bit of a culture shock when he runs out at the Broadfield Stadium in the third round of the FA Youth Cup on Friday night.

The 16-year-old Spanish wonderkid is used to the more illustrious surroundings of the Nou Camp and Highbury than Crawley's relatively humble home.

Arsenal snapped up Fabregas from Barcelona in the summer after he had set the Under-17 World Cup alight, scoring six goals to help Spain progress to the final.

He also won both the Player of the Tournament award and the Golden Boot.

Arsene Wenger rates the teenager so highly that he even handed him a first team debut in last month's Carling Cup victory over Rotherham despite his tender age but youth team boss Tony Elkins-Green admits he has no special plans to stifle Fabregas.

He said: "We have heard all about Arsenal's boy wonder but there is no point us concentrating on stopping him as they will only hurt us elsewhere.

"Their team has eight internationals in it and five of them have played for the first team in the Carling Cup so it is hardly a one man team.

"All of them are at a Premiership club so they are going to be a bit useful.

"All we can do is go out there and enjoy ourselves.

"We have got this far through hard work and no shortage of ability.

"I am sure if we perform to those standards again we will do the club proud.

"It is a dream come true for most of our boys and if this Spanish kid goes on to be a huge star it will be great for them to be able to say they have played against him."

It is the furthest Crawley have ever gone in the competition and a crowd of around 1,500 is expected at the Broadfield Stadium to cheer them on.

Kick off is at 7.30pm.
