Demands have been tabled for a speed limit reduction on a road in Eastbourne.
A petition has been raised to cut the limit in Friday Street, Langney, Eastbourne, from 40mph to 30mph.
Liberal Democrat Lang-ney borough councillor Irene Sims said: "Friday Street is a road that has changed. It is now a road surrounded by areas where many young children and elderly people live.
"For these people, Friday Street is dangerous to cross. The traffic is too fast and there are blind spots.
"By supporting residents in their call for the speed limit to be reduced to 30mph, we can make it a safer road."
The petition will be handed to Councillor David Tutt, who sits on both the borough and East Sussex county councils.
