Battling Hastings United slipped to a heartbreaking defeat at home to Folkestone Invicta.
Steve Lovell's side played the last quarter of the match with only ten men and were just a couple of minutes from claiming a deserved draw when Drew Watkins scored direct from a free kick.
Hastings finished with a man short after defender David Henham had to go off injured just minutes after Lovell had made a triple substitution.
One of the subs, Ryan Peters, made an immediate impact, blasting home a free kick.
Despite the numerical disadvantage Hastings still created chances with Peters only being denied his second by a fine save and Carl Rook just failing to get on the end of a superb Mitchell Sherwood cross.
A Mark Munday goal on 21 minutes had put Folkestone ahead. Folkestone were also reduced to ten men when John Guest was sent-off for comments to the referee in injury time.
