England should reveal whether James Kirtley receives an England Test recall by the end of the week.
Selectors must first decide whether James Anderson is to play a full part in their tours this winter after being troubled by a knee problem throughout the summer.
Sussex star Kirtley or Worcestershire's Kabir Ali could be called up as a replacement. Kirtley is already in the one-day section of the pre-Christmas itinerary.
Meanwhile, Sussex's Matt Prior has joined up with the 15-strong MCC squad which have embarked on a tour of Greece 100 years to the day since the club's first touring team headed to Australia.
The MCC squad will play matches in Athens and Corfu.
