Skydiver Godfrey Guinan is well trained at looking before he leaps, but this time he is taking a genuine leap of faith - to the other side of the world.

Godfrey, 35, is jacking in his job as a freelance IT consultant to follow his dream of setting up an extreme sports holiday company in New Zealand.

He said: "I get butterflies in my stomach whenever I think about it - I can't believe it's actually happening."

Godfrey, who lives in Kingsley Road, Brighton, is all set to leave the UK in October for the land of the Lord Of The Rings, where he will kickstart Pure Adrenaline Ltd.

This plan, like all the best ones, was born over a beer with a mate during a trip to New Zealand last year.

He said: "We were sitting in the pub after a skydive and were saying 'Wouldn't it be good if we could do this all the time?'. That was it.

"My pal James is in marketing and I'm in IT so between us we had all we needed to get it started.

"We wanted to give people the whole shebang - a two week rush!"

The pair travelled back to New Zealand in June and finalised most of the activities.

Unfortunately, James had to drop out a few weeks ago. Now Godfrey is going it alone.

He said: "I'm a bit disappointed because it would have been nice to share the responsibility of the decisions and James has put so much work into it, but that's life."

Originally from London, Godfrey will stay based in Brighton but expects to spend six to eight months in New Zealand each year.

There are three packages on offer with Pure Adrenaline Ltd.

One is a multi-activity adventure holiday which includes 13 days of high-adrenaline activities such as a 15,00ft skydive, a 47 metre bungee jump, Formula One driving, white-water rafting and parasailing.

Another package is learning to skydive.

Finally, there is the Snow Tour for skiers and snowboarders.

Godfrey said: "I want to have fun and I want other people to have fun. I've been lucky enough to be educated and have a job.

"I don't want to work until I'm 65 and get given a clock at the end of it."
