It is not correct to describe East Brighton College of Media Arts (Comart) as "closing" (The Argus, September 9).

"Struggling" - as per the first paragraph - is one thing but no decision has been taken to close the school.

On Monday night councillors decided to go ahead with a formal consultation on a proposal to close the school.

This is not the same as deciding to close it, which in any case wouldn't be the council's decision.

That would be taken by the city's school organisation committee, which, even if closure was recommended after the consultation, would be unlikely to make a decision before February next year.
