Would-be model Tiffany Murphy is hoping to go from high street honey to catwalk queen.

The 18-year-old is Sussex's only entry in an amateur modelling competition organised by a men's lifestyle magazine.

More than 5,000 girls applied to FHM's High Street Honeys and Tiffany, of Gladstone Road, Portslade, has made it to the final shortlist of 100. Now she relies on reader votes to take her to the top.

Tiffany, who lives with her mum Nicole, dad Alan, sister Jade, 17 and brothers Jake, 19, Charlie, 14 and five-year-old Nicholas, said: "My boyfriend saw the feature last year and said I should enter but I sent in the photographs too late.

"This year I made sure I didn't miss the deadline."

The former pupil of Kings Manor Community College is unemployed but volunteers at the Royal Alexander Children's Hospital in Hove.

Top prize in the competition is £10,000, a photo shoot for the front cover of FHM and a contract with a modelling agency.

Even if she doesn't win, just being recognised by the magazine has given her the confidence to pursue a new career.

Tiffany said: "Being the only girl from here in the top 100 is exciting and has made me think about progressing in other things."
