At the landward end of the West Pier, in addition to the appropriate information kiosk, you will also find a large out-of-keeping portakabin and a private off-road car park for around 20 cars.
Underneath you will find a scrap yard and a caravan (lived in).
If you weren't the West Pier Trust, I think the council might be issuing enforcement notices.
Opposite Hove library, Connaught Road has been closed for several months so that Karis has somewhere to put everything while it builds an eight-storey block of flats on a confined site.
It seems this development is progressing very slowly.
Meanwhile, a road is closed.
Nearby, Tesco or the council itself has a similar facility at the closed-off end of Vallance Road, which has been converted into a store for sand, contractors' vehicles and such like.
Now imagine Karis gets its way on the King Alfred site, which is very small in relation to the scale of the proposed development.
Where would the earth-moving equipment, the cranes, the pre-cast concrete, the titanium, the workers, the sales office etc all go? Hove beach or Hove Lawns? There is nowhere else is there? And for how long?
Those who the council has chosen may do pretty much as they please. Is that correct?
