Crawley Town boss Francis Vines blamed his side's slip-up at Tiverton on poor refereeing.

Two penalty decisions in the last 17 minutes allowed the Devon club to recover from a 2-0 deficit and snatch a 2-2 draw.

Vines raged: "The ref and linesman were shocking the whole game. I thought he gave Tiverton far too many free-kicks which weren't there.

"It was a total disgrace. We were by far the better side and the ref gave them the point.

"The first was just a legitimate challenge for the ball and in the second they weren't even sure who did it. Ben Judge cleared with a header but they booked Kevin Hemsley."

Nigel Brake gave Reds the lead in the 47th minute direct from a free kick.

Mo Harkin added a 65th-minute second goal from the penalty spot, awarded for a clear handball by Tiverton's Jason Rees.

Cornish referee Mike Hawken then signalled two spot-kicks for elbowing. The first came on 73 minutes against Crawley's new signing Karl Ready, a former QPR central defender and Wales international.

The second was a similar decision against Hemsley in the 90th minute. Both penalties were put away by substitute Steve Winter.

Vines praised the display of new boy Ready. He said: "He can obviously pass the ball, having been a pro for ten years."
