Albion hitman Darius Henderson has pledged the best is yet to come from him.

The strapping striker has vowed to improve as he launches his second month on loan from Reading against Swindon at Withdean tomorrow.

Henderson can now be recalled by the Royals at any time, but he has put the uncertainty to the back of his mind.

"I go into every game as if it's my last anyway, because I've had that amount of injuries and bad luck, so it's a situation I am used to now," he said.

"I am pleased to be staying. I've played five games here now and I think another month will be very beneficial for me.

"I am a big critic of myself. I feel I've not so much let myself down but not played to anywhere near my potential."

Henderson scored a penalty on the opening day at Oldham and forced an own goal in Albion's last home outing against Luton, but boss Steve Coppell also believes there is much more to come from the big Yorkshireman.

"That's the feeling certainly of the Reading people and I think from here as well," he said.

"It's strange when you come on loan, it's hard to have full commitment. That's why you have got to get the right types.

"For a big, powerful man he is also a little bit of an introvert and I think it might take just a little bit more to get the best out of him.

"The fact that he is conscious of it means he is thinking about it and does care, so that's important."

Simon Rodger (groin) and Paul Watson (foot) trained yesterday and Coppell expects both to be available for selection.

Henderson could be marked by former Reading team-mate Adrian Viveash but Swindon's other ex-Royal, midfielder Sammy Igoe, is banned along with Albion's Nathan Jones.

"It is good news for us that Sammy is suspended," said Henderson. "I think he was a bit unfortunate at times not to get in the Reading side. Every time he played he was superb.

"I spoke to Adi this week and we had a giggle about the fact that we could be playing against each other.

"I'm always confident against any centre half, but I know he is a very good player. He proved that last season, when he was called upon in the First Division, and it will be a good battle."
