We have read all the various objections to the three Karis development projects which have featured so often in your pages over the last few months - namely the Endeavour, the King Alfred and now the "Banana" sites.

The council planning committee seems to ignore the many and heartfelt pleas of nearby residents at each site.

In this street, opposite the Endeavour development, we have constantly objected - so far to little avail - to the appalling prospect of a 16-storey tower placed in an inappropriate and possibly dangerous position.

There is no need to go over the practical objections again.

What really hurts us is Josh Aghiros saying "I have this ambition to bring the best architecture to Brighton and Hove".

If he thinks any of the designs represent anything less than a cheap, nasty and tawdry mess, he has a weird aesthetic sense.

Most depressing is that the genius displayed by Frank Gehry at the Guggenheim in Bilbao is squandered in a scribble which looks as if he was toying with another titanium clad construction before rejecting it and throwing it in the bin from where it was retrieved by Mr Arghiros and his colleagues.
