Sussex property tycoon Nicholas Hoogstraten was today ordered to stay in prison.
Sitting at the High Court in London, Lord Justice Rose said Hoogstraten, 57, of Framfield, near Uckfield, would not be granted bail.
Mr Hoogstraten, who did not appear in court, had his conviction for killing businessman Mohammed Sabir Raja quashed in July. He faces a retrial.
The judge imposed an order restricting reporting of the 45-minute hearing.
