The owner of a Worthing music shop is using the internet to sell his business before heading overseas to start a new life.

Former cruise ship performer Paul Hart, 43, is making the most of an auction web site to clear his remaining guitars, keyboards, amplifiers, megaphones and the shop itself before setting off to Spain.

Mr Hart has run Monster Music, in Chapel Road, for the past eight years but now plans to manage an entertainment agency in Marbella and lease musical instruments.

He had sold a number of obscure musical items on the net before and using the Ebay site to auction off Monster Music was an obvious option.

Mr Hart said: "We've had a lot of response and sales are picking up because the site gives you good coverage.

"When everything's sold we're going to continue to hire out music equipment in Spain rather than retail - there's lots of call for stuff like that."

He said: "It takes time to sell on Ebay - a big music store cannot just saturate the market.

"The items that sell are the more specialised ones. With the net I've got the whole nation looking."

Monster Music is on sale for £59,000 and can be found at the businesses for sale section at Ebay.
