A boy was robbed of his ring by three youths who threatened to beat him up.
The 12-year-old was in Station Way, Crawley, when he was approached by the thugs.
He was not injured but the ring, worth £35, was pulled from his finger.
The offenders were all white. The first was aged 13 to 15, 5ft 7in, thin, with short, brown hair. He wore a blue Nike baseball cap, dark blue T-shirt and navy blue tracksuit bottoms.
The second was aged 13, 5ft 2in, chubby, with light-brown hair and wearing blue and white tracksuit trousers. The third male had brown hair.
