Detectives have been granted extra time to quiz a man being held on suspicion of killing a mother at her seaside home in Eastbourne.
Magistrates allowed police to question the unnamed man in his 50s for another 36 hours during a hearing at lunchtime yesterday.
The suspect was arrested following the discovery of 58-year-old Susan Bailey's body at her end-of-terrace home in Channel View Road at noon on Sunday.
Police have said they are treating her death as suspicious and have appealed for anyone who saw anything untoward between Friday and Sunday to contact them.
The rear of the red brick property is still widely covered with blue tarpaulin as forensic examinations continued.
