Invitation League: Leaders Arundel boosted their chances of winning the title for only the second time after beating bottom side Clymping by 102 runs.

Skipper Steve Mullen (96) and Richard Whitcomb (61) put on 167 for the first wicket and Richard Thompson chipped in with 43 not out as Arundel totalled 230-2.

Clymping struggled to 128 all out with only Chris Green (40) causing problems after good bowling by Neil Chitty (4-31).

Broadwater beat Pagham by 137 runs at home thanks to an unbeaten 97 by Richard Iago. He helped the home side to 200-5, which was more than enough as Pagham were dismissed for 63.

Fitzroy Hodges (5-35) and Joe Owen (5-20) did the damage for Broadwater.

Andy Pass (52) and Paul Davis (46) guided Goring to 207-5 in an 89-run win at Ifield. Goring bowler Graham Burgess then took 4-8 to leave the home side all out for just 118.

Pulborough are division two champions with two weeks of the season to spare after beating Scaynes Hill by five wickets. Sam Jeremiah (57) and Paul Elphick (40) helped Hill post 176 all out but it was not enough as Pulborough raced to 178-5 in reply.

Clint Astridge was again the star with an unbeaten 83, his ninth half century in his last 12 home matches.

In Division Two, second-placed Southwick boosted their chances of promotion with an eight-wicket win at Crawley.

Good bowling by Paul Grennan (5-45) restricted Crawley to 113 all out, before Steve Martin hit 50 to ease Southwick to 114-2.

Eastergate are relegated to division three following a 57-run defeat at Ansty. David Croydon (72), Richard Nichols (57) and Steffan Piolet (51 not out) helped Ansty to 218-3.

Alex Robinson scored a stubborn 62 for Eastergate but he received little support and they were all out for 161. Barry Crouch took 4-40 and Shaun Janman, Andy Mott and Simon Parsons all took two wickets each.

Billingshurst kept their promotion hopes alive with an eight-wicket win at Keymer & Hassocks.

Tony Chad scored 52 to help Keymer to 172-9, despite good spells with the ball by Matt Gooda (4-39). A second wicket partnership of 153 by Pete Burroughs (54) and Hayden James (93) sealed victory as Hurst closed on 175-2.
