Hellingly Lions gave their National League trophy hopes a double boost with back-to-back wins in the Midlands.

First they defeated Birmingham 99-81, then travelled across the city to beat Sandwell 100-79.

Skipper Martyn Hollebon led the team brilliantly and was unbeaten by the opposition in both matches.

Younger brother Neil and Zac Parsons also scored highly, while Eddie Ridley and Jamie Cheshire provided some great racing.

Barrie Geer and Joe Plumstead bettered their performances at Sandwell where they lifted the under-21 title in 1995.

And veteran Alan Boniface scored a vital win at Sandwell to break the deadlock and put Lions on the way to victory.
