You have published a couple of complaints from weekend motorists ticketed at the King Alfred car park (Letters, August 28).

I now see why they were complaining. Walking past, I noted there were a dozen or so perfectly useable spaces which were not white-lined for use.

It being a hot day, the car park had filled up and all these unpainted spaces were neatly filled.

A warden was there neatly ticketing them all. I imagine a beach hut goes with the job - ticket one lot, then, when they've gone, wait for the next lot.

Perhaps that chap at City Hall who is paid a great deal of money to encourage visitors to Brighton should have lunch with the chap paid to ensure they don't come back.
