Worthing Hospital is rapidly becoming one of the leaders in the field of keyhole surgery.

In most hospitals, patients undergoing surgery for stomach cancer face a spell in intensive care and a three-week recovery in a ward.

But medical experts at Worthing, led by consultant surgeon Krish Singh, are developing techniques that mean patients can go home less than a week after surgery rather than remaining in hospital.

Sufferers previously considered unfit for surgery can now be operated on.

Other areas using the ground-breaking keyhole techniques include orthopaedics, general surgery, gynaecology and urology.
