I hope when the next zone of the parking scheme for Hove, at Westbourne South, is planned, there will be a better balance of spaces for shoppers and workers as well as residents.
I work part-time for a small business in Church Road, close to Hove Street. In Vallance Road and Vallance Gardens, there are very few two-hour spaces, while many of the residents' spaces are empty during working hours.
Most of these houses already have off-street parking. So do Princes Crescent and Princes Square in the Westbourne area.
The present scheme is biased against workers. Bus transport from Woodingdean is not necessarily a viable alternative for various reasons.
Why can we not have four-hour bays, allowing people to work a half day? I am prepared to pay for street parking but object to moving my car every two hours.
